Our next project is raising the weir named “Suni weir” on the Pompue River. The first few feet of height worked very well and held about 225,000 gallons. It lasted until August/ September. Another meter height to the weir will probably contain an additional 500,000 gallons of water and last until the rains come. We expect the cost to be $1,500.00.
The first pictures show the river is nothing but sand. There was a narrow opening that could be filled in with concrete to hold water. The cost is mostly labor and not much in materials.
The later pictures show the weir overflowing and holding water well. The area is a few miles from other surface water and will help a lot.
